ATHLONE FASHION TRAIL | 1st October 2016

Into the West Blogger Network joined Goldenegg Productions and Athlone's leading retailers as they hosted free pop-up fashion shows throughout the day. Retailers featured the work of local designers in their shows with dazzling window displays as everyone enjoyed a truly unique fashion experience.

This event was as social as it was eye catching with guests being teated to morning coffees as the day began with a Bloggers Breakfast at 9.30 am in the Colm Quinn BMW Showroom and each blogger received a fabulous goodie bag.  The Bloggers were then chauffeur driven into Athlone where the Fashioon Trail kicked off at 11 am.

The Fatted Calf, Church Street, refuelled the Bloggers with some delicious lunch time bites and  to finish the day off in style, the Radisson Blu Hotel hosted a wrap up party to celebrate the inaugural Athlone Fashion Trail.

And we're delighted to say we were very Trendy on the day with the hashtag #AthloneFashionTrail trending at no 1.  Very impressive if we do say so ourselves as it was during the Mayo v Dublin All Ireland Final #PowerOfBloggers

Thank you to all the Bloggers from Into The West Blogger Network, catch up with the day over on their blogs below.

The day started by having our bloggers breakfast in Colm Quinn BMW showroom It was really nice and also treated to a glass of bubbly was a nice touch to start the day off. The first place we visited was Kadee Bride and on arrival we had some lovely nibbles and a glass of bubbly which was very kind of them, I fell in love with every bridal dress, I really enjoyed this fashion show and I would also highly recommend taking a visit if you are planning a wedding.
— Aimee,

Just like at the Galway Fashion Trail, we were treated to an exclusive Blogger Breakfast at Colm Quinn BMW to kick-start the day and to meet & chat with everyone.
There was a stunning spread put on for us and we were treated like royalty yet again.
Being chauffeur driven into the town in their amaaaazing cars was the perfect start to the day!

As I was showcasing hats during the day I set off to Olivia Danielle Boutique to prepare for the show. Lots of new stock had just arrived in the shop and they were busy putting the best fashion looks out ready for the models to arrive.
— Suzie, Suzie Mahony Designs

Olivia Danielle was by far my most favourite boutique. The fashion was very elegant, and you girls know I die for elegance. They also sell Freddy jeans! They range from casual elegance to formal wear even to Ball gowns! Whenever I return to Athlone I’ll be making a stop here.

Last Saturday some of you that follow me on Snapchat may have seen that I was at the Athlone Fashion Trail with my Into the West Blogger Network fam. This was a day of discovering what Athlone has to offer fashion wise. I already knew Athlone was a great destination for shopping as I would make regular trips there to shop but unfortunately since I moved to Galway, these trips have become less often so I was so excited to be back for a browse around the shops & boutiques of Athlone.
— Shona, Sho Style

We then moved on to Athlone Town Centre which has all the best high street stores under one roof. From Zara, Oasis, River Island, Top Shop, you will be spoilt for choice! The centre is not to be missed if you are visiting Athlone!
— Lisa, Lisa's Life Style

Of course a busy day of shopping always deserves a reward. What better reward than a mouth-watering tasting menu served up by The Fatted Calf. From decor to desserts we were spoiled rotten!

Earlier this year I had attended the Galway Fashion Trail which was one of the highlights of my blogging life!! I have to admit though I did have some self esteem and confidence issues to deal with and feelings around “not fitting in”. But what a difference a few months make to a girl’s self confidence!
— Dolores, Irish Health Hour

When I was invited to attend the Athlone Fashion Trail, on the 1st October, as a VIP blogger – obviously I jumped at the chance! I’m sure many of you saw the amazing day that we had on my Snapchat last Saturday (@styleboothique). We arrived at Colm Quinn BMW in Athlone on Saturday morning to be treated to breakfast and an introduction to the people behind the organising of the day. From here we were driven, in convoy into town in a range of their newest BMW cars and jeeps, between the super friendly staff and the luxury of the cars, we had the some serious banter!

Tá súil agam go bhfuil sibh go maith a chairde? Mar is eol daoibh ag an bpointe seo níl seachtain nach dtéann thart nach mbíonn imeacht nó ócáid de shaghas éigin ag cailíní Ghaeilge le Glam. Is orm féin agus Síofra a bhí an t-ádh an Satharn seo caite nuair a thug muid aghaidh ar Áth Luain chun páirt a ghlacadh san Athlone Fashion Trail.
— Gaeilge Le Glam

A quick totter over the Shannon bridge and we arrived at our next destination, Burgess Department Store. Now, as I am sure you all know Burgess is a well established department store styling the midlands since 1839. Another fashion show commenced here with some fabulous outfits, coats and menswear.
— Tanya, My Little Love Stories

As soon as we all walked into the boutique I think we all gasped. The boutique was just stunning. When you walk in there is a show stopping copper wall and then the boutique just feels so luxurious. They stock beautiful brands such as Alice Temperley, Suzanne Neville, Essense of Australia, Cymbeline and Martina Liana.
— Amie, Floralesque

It was a brilliant day out and definitely worth doing if your around Galway or Athlone in the future. Just to let everybody know there will be a Galway fashion trail taking place on the 5th November.
— Amanda, The Chatterbox Diaries

Overall it was an amazing day with the ITWBN Bloggers and we couldn’t of been treated better!! It was my first time shopping in Athlone and I was so impressed!! Definitely another trip to Athlone is on the cards!!!
— Rebecca, Lipstick Lace & Life

As soon as I arrived in Colm Quinn BMW Athlone for breakfast at 9.30am I collected my name badge, passed our goodie bags itching to know what was inside and went to meet up with the rest of the ITWBN bloggers for breakfast and to catch up. As the main sponsors of the event Colm Quinn BMW had as usual pulled out all the stops.

Twitter was LIT! By 10m, Into The West Blogger Network Bloggers had the days hashtag #AthloneFashionTrail trending!! By 3pm that day, the hashtag had reached the no. 1 one spot on the twitter trendsmap! This ment the hashtag had out-trended the #DubVsMayo tag!! That really is a testament to the power of bloggers & social media!
